GED fees in Pakistan: the full cost breakdown
Anyone who gives you a single number is hiding something. GED costs in Pakistan come in separate parts — here they are, laid out honestly, with the official test fee cited and kept apart from tuition.
Budgeting for the GED means budgeting for three separate things. Keeping them separate is the only honest way to answer "how much does it cost?" This post is the budgeting companion to our dedicated GED fees page.
1. The official GED test fee (verified)
2. Preparation / tuition
This is what an institute charges to get you ready — teaching, structure, materials, guidance. It is entirely separate from the test fee above and should always be quoted on its own. Beware any "all-in" figure that blends tuition with the official test fee; that's where confusion (and overcharging) hides.
3. IBCC equivalence charges
Once you've passed, obtaining your IBCC HSSC equivalence certificate has its own processing charges, set by the IBCC — a third, independent cost. The equivalence process is explained on our IBCC equivalence guide.
A note on those PKR figures
You'll see Pakistani sites quoting the test at PKR 6,000–7,000 per subject. We haven't reproduced that because it couldn't be verified against any official source — it may be outdated or describe a bundled fee. When the official source disagrees with a third party, we go with the official source and tell you which is which.

Frequently asked questions
There isn't one number, because there are separate costs: the official GED test fee (USD 90/subject, USD 360 for all four), a preparation/tuition fee (separate, quoted by your institute), and IBCC equivalence processing charges. Budget for all three.
