Where IBCC stops and HEC begins

The second common error is jurisdictional. The IBCC governs equivalence only up to HSSC / UK Level 3. Anything above Level 3 — Level 4 and Level 5, which includes the Pearson BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) — is the responsibility of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), not the IBCC.

So if you ever move from a Level 3 Pearson BTEC up to an HND, the body that recognises it changes. Providers who talk about "IBCC recognising your BTEC HND" are blurring two separate authorities.
